Sagacious words

Poetry is a deal of joy and pain and wonder, with a dash of the dictionary. ~ Khalil Gibran

The heaviness of Equal Measure

A walk towards the clouds is an ascendancy
But then there is the reality of underclasses-
As the miserable unknowns gather together
In a silent vigil for the sacred pain of losses
In the end, the redress of justice always does-
Outweigh desire and urgency for vengeance,
As the heaviness of equal measure, burdens
Our carefree and privileged pleasure seekers
In lands where the old wealth was inherited
Through deceptions, stealth and aggressions,
Redress, unlike the healing energy of mercy-
Comes from not just forgetfulness but a just-
And fair system of honest acknowledgements
Fighting for higher ideals means being strong
At the risk of being wrong against consensus.
