Poetry is a deal of joy and pain and wonder, with a dash of the dictionary. ~ Khalil Gibran

Powerlust

Again and again, the force of the curse hits,
It doesn't stop at all, it identifies with nothing
But total dominance.
In lust for power and rule,
They accuse, cajole and manipulate-
They try every which way to control your fate-
For they are ruthless and greedy people,
Determined to let not the structures of status change.
A life full of misery and suffering-
what a way to be, what a 'living' to have to take.
It is a rape of the soul-
And all is equal in the brave new Anglophile world,
As stagnated exotic empires of old are vanquished;
Where the girl child is not buried alive, nor the broken man-
But they are 'negated,' all of them, in every way,
Throughout every step of life,
The assaulted stand righteous though targeted daily-
By all of the dishonourable intentions of the mighty,
Yet like a phoenix rising, a new birth has been enacted
The death of the old was long expected and long overdue,
The decayed power thrones of superficial establishments,
Are the chains that bind to hold you prostrate,
And in place of the love that they should give,
To help growth and humanity advance- they simply deceive,
With tainted philosophies, perverted and deviated from,
That were and maybe forever will be, used as a fantasy
To subjugate and subdue all valid challenges to modern tyranny.

Ode to Existence

Battered and broken are the shattered remains of every heart
often to be found in every nook, cranny and corner of the earth;

Fighters of eternity grieve not for wounds of time and place
but in painful hindsight look at the losses and betrayals faced.

Hollow are the known victories of conflict not graced by dignity-
and shallow are the claims for the dead in their dubious morality.

And as in time the mind reels with a vague comprehension
that such are the turns in the fairground of human existence.

As we, pieces of the puzzle fight for the privilege of calm stupefaction;
To let the arrow of life, fly, towards a slow and determined affirmation.
