Sagacious words

Poetry is a deal of joy and pain and wonder, with a dash of the dictionary. ~ Khalil Gibran

A Rite of Passage

The night begins to draw the day to a close,
As the shadows of a life start to break
And the dreams of truth and ambition
Are nullified through the force of brutal rage-

In the broken, the cracks of damage
Fester and bleed but then slowly, surely
Begin to heal by a rite of passage,
That protects as the storm gathers pace-
And allows the power to become apparent.
